Percentage is an important chapter of Arithmetic section. Percentage is the base of other arithmetic chapters. If you understand the concept of percentage then you will be able to solve other chapters easily without any problem as most of the chapters of arithmetic are based on the concept of percentage. In this post we will understand what is percentage and its basic idea.

DEFINITION OF PERCENTAGE: – The Percentage is a relative value that indicates the hundredth parts of any quantity. Which means something is how much out of 100 of that thing.

Percentage is denoted by the symbol ‘%’ which means 1/100.

So, whenever we say 10%, means 10 out of 100 or we can say 10/100.

PERCENTAGE TO FRACTION & FRACTION TO PERCENTAGE CONVERSION:-

To convert any percentage to its fraction value we will replace the ‘%’ sign and multiply the given numerical value by 1/100 and after reducing the faction to its lowest form.

Conversely, to convert any fraction to percentage we will multiply the fraction by 100% to get the percentage value.
